Prior to appointment(s) with Treasure Coast Hypnosis, we ask that if you are under a doctor's or therapist's care, you notify them of your intentions to become a non-smoker using hypnosis. Please have them call me if they have questions about my sessions. We also suggest that everyone research the possible side affects of smoking cigarettes as a motivator to stop smoking. It is also very important that you read up on the possible side effects that may occur when one stops smoking cigarettes so you are not caught unaware. Mood swings, agitation, sleep changes, and unusual/vivid dream patterns are amongst the possibilities. However, there are numerous other side affect possibilities that you should make yourselves knowledgeable about. It is the client's responsibility to be well-informed on all aspects of becoming a non-smoker.

What's in a cigarette? American Lung Association
There are approximately 600 ingredients in cigarettes. When burned, they create more than 7,000 chemicals. At least 69 of these chemicals are known to cause cancer, and many are poisonous.
Many of these chemicals are also found in consumer products, but these products have warning labels. While the public is warned about the danger of the poisons in these products, rarely or in much detail are there such warning for the toxins in tobacco smoke.
Here are a few of the chemicals in tobacco smoke and other places they are found:
Acetone - found in nail polish remover, Acetic Acid - an ingredient in hair dye, Ammonia - a common household cleaner, Arsenic - used in rat poison, Benzene - found in rubber cement, Butane - used in lighter fluid, Cadmium - active component in battery acid, Carbon Monoxide - released in car exhaust fumes, Formaldehyde - embalming fluid, Hexamine - found in barbecue lighter fluid, Lead - used in batteries, Naphthalene - an ingredient in moth balls, Methanol - a main component in rocket fuel, Nicotine - used as insecticide, Tar - material for paving roads, Toluene - used to manufacture paint and explosives.
Harmful Chemicals in Tobacco Products - American Cancer Society
Cigarettes, cigars, and pipe tobacco are made from dried tobacco leaves. Other substances are added for flavor and to make smoking more pleasant. The smoker from these products is a complex mixture of chemicals produced by burning tobacco and its additives.
Tobacco smoke is made up of thousands of chemicals, including a least 70 known to cause cancer. These cancer-causing chemicals are referred to as carcinogens. Some of the chemicals found in tobacco smoke other than that which was mentioned by the Lung Association:
Nicotine - the addictive drug that produces the effect people are looking for and one of the harshest chemicals in tobacco smoke, Hydrogen Cyanide - interferes with cellular respiration, and Radioactive elements such as Uranium, BNitrosamines, Polycyclic armantic hydrocarbons (PAHS). Many of these substances cause cancer. Some can cause heart disease, lung disease, or other serious health problems. Most of the substances come from the burning tobacco leaves themselves, not from additives included in cigarettes or other tobacco products. Radioactive materials are in the tobacco leaves. These materials come from the fertilizer and soil used to grow tobacco leaves, so the amount in tobacco depends on the soil the plants were grown in and the type of fertilizers used. These radioactive materials are given off in the smoke when tobacco is burned, which smokers take into their lungs as they inhale. This may be another key factor in smokers getting lung cancer.
BECOMING a SUCCESSFUL NON-SMOKER:

The subconscious mind is always ready, willing, and able to create a new program like "STOP SMOKING"...if it feels you mean it. * In 48 Hours - Nerve endings start re-growing, and your ability to smell and taste enhanced; and walking becomes easier;
